How often should my fleet undergo emissions testing?

Most vehicles with a few specific exceptions must be tested two times (2x) per year, however CARB regulations are tightening October 2027 and the regulation is increasing testing intervals to four times (4x) per year for vehicles 2013 and newer equipped with OBD systems. In addition, CARB has systems throughout the state that scan vehicles driving on public roadways. If these systems flag a vehicle as a “Heavy Emitter”, CARB will issue notices for additional testing.
